Even better than a bioethanol powered Le Mans contender is the annual spectacle of the Tour de France. Le Tour was first run in 1903 with interruptions only for WW I and WW II.
Caught some of the action on the TV (yes I had won control of the remote momentarily) and found I was actually on the edge of me seat willing on the two that had lead by the whole stage, as they were 'hunted' down in the end by a pack of sprinters.
