Missing my faithful companion for past 16 years. Alas Ginger passed away suddenly. He was more than a cat - a family member and one of our proto-children (he preceded the children and was a test of this parenting business - not that anything can really prepare you) He had a great life as an indoor cat, apart from the odd escape but he never strayed far. A great talker and very affectionate to me (not so my better half who administered all the pills and flea treatments). 16 years is a long time - 1/3 of my life - and 100+% of the kids. Sadly all we have now are the memories. Still we were lucky to have met Ginge and he was lucky we rescued him from the animal shelter all those years ago.
