Tom Peters reports that - In England more people are employed by Indian restaurants than in steelmaking, coal mining, and ship building combined! Think about that for a while. (via Seth's Blog)
Somewhat ironic given the English, in colonising India, killed off its steel industry so as it could not threaten their own. A nice dose of post-colonial payback. On similar lines it seems the former colony of Australia seems to dominate most of the games invented by the English – cricket, rugby league and rugby union. Of course Australia has never got a been successful in the world of Association Football (soccer), though it has been left to the continental Europeans to beat the English at that game.
